About This Role

This role primarily involves providing direct patient care under the guidance of a Registered Nurse, supporting the nursing process, and developing critical thinking skills through collaboration. It focuses on delivering quality patient care and ensuring patient well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional
• Support the nurse in the application of the nursing process
• Work to develop critical thinking skills through collaboration with the RN to ensure quality patient care delivery
• Seek out educational opportunities related to nursing practice and critical thinking
• Provide basic patient care including care and comfort, record vital signs, personal care, hygiene, and mobility
• Act as a liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns
• Provide high level customer service to all patients, patient's family, visitors and employees
• Perform delegated tasks once competency has been validated

Requirements

• HS/GED
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program
• Completed one clinical nursing course
• Completed one clinical rotation

Qualifications

• HS/GED and currently enrolled in a nursing program with one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation completed

Nice to Have

• BLS certification
• Recent experience in acute care and/or long term care facility
• EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) training
