Civil Structural Engineer

About This Role

Lead civil/structural engineering analysis, calculations, design, detailing, and CAD-supported drafting for an electric utility client's facilities, ensuring quality, safety, and providing expert guidance and mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural and line design analysis using PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole and PLS-Caisson across transmission and distribution
• Oversee QA/QC processes and adhere to company and site-specific safety standards
• Review and design pole foundations, providing expert guidance on new installations and evaluations of existing infrastructure
• Support construction activities by coordinating with field teams, conducting field inspections, and assisting with emergency restoration efforts
• Maintain and update design specifications, collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Provide leadership, guidance and instruction to the company's transmission engineering practice, mentor and guide less experienced engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in civil/structural engineering
• California Civil PE License
• 7+ years technical experience in transmission and/or distribution line engineering design
• Engineering experience with Electric Utility Distribution and Transmission Systems using California GO95, NESC and ASCE codes and guidelines
• Experience with PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, AutoCAD

Qualifications

• Bachelor's (or Master's) degree in civil/structural engineering
• Seven or more years of technical experience in transmission and/or distribution line engineering design
