About This Role

This role involves applying deep chemical expertise to evaluate and enhance advanced AI systems by assessing scientific accuracy, mechanistic correctness, and quantitative reasoning of AI-generated responses to chemistry-related questions.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate AI-generated responses to chemistry-related questions for scientific accuracy, mechanistic correctness, and quantitative reasoning
• Create and refine prompts that guide AI behavior in chemistry contexts
• Verify chemical claims using domain expertise and authoritative public references
• Identify strengths, gaps, and errors in model outputs and provide structured, written feedback
• Assess clarity, organization, and suitability of explanations for different audiences
• Apply defined evaluation standards, benchmarks, and guidelines consistently across all tasks

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in chemistry or a closely related field
• Expertise in one or more areas such as organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, materials, or biological chemistry
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex chemical concepts clearly
• Experience reviewing, editing, or evaluating technical or academic content
• High attention to detail and scientific rigor
• Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment
• Legally authorized to perform contract work from your location

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in chemistry or a closely related field

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI model evaluation, data annotation, or human-in-the-loop workflows
• Experience teaching, mentoring, or communicating scientific topics to non-expert audiences
• Familiarity with structured evaluation frameworks, benchmarks, or quality rubrics
