About This Role

This Charge Nurse role coordinates quality nursing care for patients across the lifespan and manages operational issues during their shift. This position provides clinical care as needed and serves as a resource for staff.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift
  • Provide clinical care as needed when census demands
  • Communicate patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s)
  • Serve as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff

Requirements

  • Graduate from a nursing program
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a nursing program. Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2 or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting

Certifications

BCLS - Basic Life Support (Required) Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (Required) ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery) (Required) PALS Certification (Emergency Department) (Required) Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology) (Required) NRP by the end of orientation period (Womens Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) (Required) AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery) (Required) PEARS Certification (at Piedmont Athens Hospital) (Required)
