The Certified Sterile Processing Technician collects, cleans, disinfects, inspects, and sterilizes surgical instruments and medical equipment. This role also involves maintaining code carts, chest carts, and urology carts, and cleaning hospital-wide equipment as needed.
Responsibilities
- Collect surgical instruments and other medical equipment
- Clean surgical instruments and other medical equipment
- Disinfect surgical instruments and other medical equipment
- Inspect surgical instruments and other medical equipment
- Sterilize surgical instruments and other medical equipment
- Maintain code carts
- Maintain chest carts
- Maintain urology carts
- Clean hospital wide equipment as needed
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- Certification in either central service or surgery technology
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Completion of formal central service technician or surgery technologist program
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- Previous central service, surgery, or patient care work experience is desirable
