Certified Nursing Assistant

About This Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant provides direct patient care under the supervision of professional nursing staff, assisting patients with daily living activities and performing clinical skills. This role is essential in maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Consults with supervisor on unit activities, needs, and patient care problems
• Provides general nursing care including positioning, lifting, turning, and assisting with personal hygiene
• Accurately takes and records vital signs, weight, height, and intake/output
• Prepares patient rooms and beds for admission and transfers, ensuring necessary equipment is available
• Maintains an attractive and comfortable patient environment, focusing on cleanliness, ventilation, and lighting
• Assists with patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures
• Answers patient call lights, telephone, and paging system, responding as appropriate
• Performs routine treatment procedures such as enemas and application of heat/cold under RN direction
• May release, remove, and reapply restraints to patients under the direction of an RN
• Assists with patient feeding and prepares food items as needed

Requirements

• Current Nursing Assistant Certification
• BLS Certification
• Minimum six months' experience in acute or long-term care facility
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
• Basic computer knowledge

Qualifications

• Completion of course for nursing assistants
• Minimum six months’ experience in acute or long-term care facility
