Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

About This Role

Provide direct personal and clinical care to residents, ensuring their highest level of functioning and maintaining a safe, clean environment, while adhering to facility standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Receive and give report to management on resident status at the beginning and end of each shift
• Notify management of any changes in resident physical and/or mental status
• Provide personal care to residents per individualized plan of care
• Document all pertinent information regarding care
• Prepare residents for meals, assist to and from dining room, and help with meal setup and eating
• Assist residents with toilet and incontinence care
• Keep residents’ apartments neat and clean
• Perform clinical procedures according to facility standards and scope of practice regulations
• Perform vital signs, blood pressure, weights, and other trained procedures
• Complete prevention and restorative care including ambulation, transferring, bathing, grooming, and other Activities of Daily Living
• Maintain knowledge of facility infection control procedures

Requirements

• Certification as a CNA from an approved State course
• Meet all health requirements, including TB testing
• Pass state-required fingerprinting and criminal background check
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly

Qualifications

• Six months’ experience in long-term care preferred

• Demonstrates leadership, communication, and coaching skills
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively
