About This Role

This Certified Nursing Assistant position performs patient care activities and related nonprofessional health care activities for patients across various treatment facilities and health care settings within Avenal State Prison. The role primarily involves basic nursing care procedures, ensuring patient safety, and working collaboratively with the licensed nursing staff.

Responsibilities

Perform patient care activities and related nonprofessional health care activities for patients
Assist patients with physical care and activities of daily living
Ensure patient safety through observation and monitoring, including suicide precaution and restraint monitoring
Address the ongoing needs of patients in collaboration with the nursing care team
Promote efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of health care resources

Requirements

Possession of a valid Nursing Assistant Certificate issued by the California Department of Public Health
