About This Role

This role involves providing routine personal care duties for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The Certified Nursing Assistant maintains a safe environment and supports the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine personal care duties for patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
• Maintain a safe environment and report any problems
• Support the mission and vision of Winchester Rehabilitation Center and Winchester Medical Center
• Act as a preceptor in the orientation of new CNAs once experienced

Requirements

• Must be listed on the relevant Registry of the Board of Nursing as a Certified Nurse Aide in Virginia and/or West Virginia based on work location(s) within Valley Health
• Must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation for BLS
• Understand basic principles of human growth and development
• Competent to successfully interact with patients according to their special needs which may apply based on the age of the patient served
• Reliable means of phone communication with hospital

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
