Serve as a Full-Time CDL Delivery Driver providing excellent customer service, ensuring timely and safe delivery of merchandise, and maintaining compliance with DOT regulations. This role involves managing inventory, loading trucks, and performing appliance installations for Lowe's customers.
Responsibilities
- Provide SMART customer service at all times by executing Lowe's policies and procedures
- Assist customers with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise
- Communicate information to customers regarding stock, special orders, features, benefits, application, and warranty
- Plan delivery activities, print loading tickets, and deliver merchandise according to schedule
- Pull merchandise, build and band delivery loads, and load trucks within payload limits
- Inspect the condition of products before loading for delivery or assisting customers
- Match items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions, items, and model numbers
- Ensure loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Update delivery and route status on the system for tracking purposes
- Unload, install, and test appliances upon delivery
- Verify daily vehicle inspections, report findings, and ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles and equipment
- Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) reporting to maintain DOT certification and CDL compliance
- Detect signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and communicate them to management or Asset Protection
- Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, including daily safety reviews, hazard noting, aisle clearance, and securing doors and gates
- Adhere to all safety requirements relevant to regular job duties: top stock safety, reinstalling safety cables, use of aisle blockers, tether line on power equipment, spotters, and safety devices
- Operate store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, copiers, fax machines, computers, CCTV surveillance system, key cutter, panel saw, paint mixer, flooring cutters, compacter baler)
Requirements
- Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment
- Ability to pass MVR screen in accordance with company requirements
- Ability to obtain sales-related licensure or registration as may be required by law
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction)
- Must be 21 years of age
- Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations
Nice to Have
- 1 Year Experience driving a semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school
- 6 Months Experience performing in-home delivery or retail customer service
- 3 Months Experience operating a forklift or Moffett onloading/offloading a vehicle
