Cashier Supervisor

About This Role

Supervise and guide junior cashiers while ensuring smooth department operations and providing exceptional customer service at T&T Supermarket's first US flagship store.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service with a welcoming smile, greeting and assisting customers enthusiastically, friendly, and courteously.
• Assist customers in the Customer Service Counter, handling gift card orders, returned products, bottle returns, tobacco sales, phone calls, lottery and bus ticket sales, etc.
• Address customer complaints promptly, fostering positive relationships through attentive service and genuine engagement.
• Monitor transactions and prevent possible fraud, including PLU# input, merchandise scanning, transaction discrepancies, and identification of counterfeit/fake cards.
• Provide guidance and supervision to junior team members, offer feedback on staff performance, and assist in staff training and development within the department.
• Lead by example, demonstrating proficiency in all assigned duties and setting a standard for excellence.
• Familiarize with all in-store promotion activities to better assist customers and deliver effective & accurate checkout services.
• Fulfill any additional responsibilities as assigned by superiors, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the department.

Requirements

• Willing to work flexible shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evenings, and statutory holidays.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Basic computer skills in MS Office & knowledge of accounting.
• Good knowledge of payment methods including cash, bank cards, and credit cards; possess knowledge in selling lottery tickets, bus tickets, gift cards etc.
• Ability to handle paperwork & reports effectively in an organized manner.
• Familiarity with relevant tools and equipment, able to interpret product labels.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety protocols.
• Demonstrated commitment, accountability, and reliability in previous roles.
• A good team player, capable of collaborating with and assisting colleagues.
• Good organization, problem-solving, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Positive, proactive, and self-motivated work ethic.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of related experience.
