About This Role

Supervise young children aged 4-7, ensuring they learn, have fun, and remain safe during various engaging and enriching experiences within the Youth Activities Department.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate positive behavior, enthusiasm, and commitment to Club's standards of conduct and Camp operation standards
  • Maintain open communication and build positive rapport with campers, parents, and team members
  • Lead/teach diverse recreational and educational activities based on weekly themes and rain day plans
  • Adapt to different camper needs during transition periods and camp activities
  • Lead small groups of campers by fostering positive relationships, resolving conflicts, and ensuring inclusion
  • Enforce camp rules and respond to behavior concerns promptly and to Club standards
  • Administer first aid and take care of injuries as needed, ensuring proper communication, reporting, and follow-up
  • Stay alert and involved in all camp activities, assuring camper fun while maintaining safety
  • Escort campers around the Club based on the activity schedule
  • Assist with maintaining camp facilities and equipment cleanliness

Requirements

  • Reliability to work scheduled shifts and follow through with daily activity expectations
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts as required
  • Ability to pass a background check or provide an underage working permit
  • Ability to provide proof of identity and employment authorization per federal I-9 requirements
  • Capability of meeting the physical demands, including long periods of sun exposure, standing, quick movement, and periodically lifting/moving objects up to 20-35 pounds

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Camp Counselor or similar role working with children is preferred

  • Proven experience as a Camp Counselor or similar role working with children
  • Familiarity with various outdoor activities/ability to be creative with camp activities
