Camp Counselor Assistant

About This Role

This role will involve supervising students, monitoring attendance, accompanying them on trips, overseeing dormitory activities, directing special events, and providing tutoring and academic support as a Camp Counselor Assistant for the Young Scholars Program at Florida State University.

Responsibilities

• Monitor student attendance in classes
• Accompany students on off-campus trips
• Oversee dormitory activities
• Direct special events
• Provide tutoring and informal academic support
• Interact with students on a personal basis and provide appropriate support while maintaining strong boundaries
• Strictly adhere to and enforce program rules and policies
• Serve as positive role models at all times

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
• Must be eligible to work in the US by April 2, 2026

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Previous experience as a Young Scholars Program participant
• Previous experience as a counselor for Young Scholars Program or other summer camps
• Previous experience as a dormitory RA
