About This Role

Ensure all transactions for the University Information Technology Services division are compliant with established policies and procedures. This role serves as a liaison for the division and other units within the department and university, assisting with policy and procedure implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Review, code, and post personnel, operating, and equipment transactions for divisions/departments
  • Work with internal departments like Fiscal Services, Budget and Planning, HR, and Procurement
  • Serve as a liaison between department business operations and other administrative units within the department and university
  • Facilitate payments and requisitions for travel, events, and ordering supplies/materials, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regulatory guidelines
  • Deposit received checks, collect receipts, and record them
  • Review and reconcile all expenses including personnel, budget amendments, travel, and operational/equipment transactions
  • Prepare accounts payable for electronic processes
  • Enter, review, or approve transactions for departmental travel, operating supplies, and contracts
  • Review and assist with reconciling cash advances, budget, and other fund sources
  • Coordinate, review, and ensure all financial transactions are processed accurately and timely

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1 year of related bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Knowledge of financial processes and guidelines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Accounting or related field or an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • One (1) year related experience in bookkeeping or accounting

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience reviewing and reconciling travel expense statements, PCard, personnel, and other expense types
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials or other financial services programs
  • Previous Higher Education experience
  • Advanced degree in a related field
