About This Role

The Business Development Director will formulate and execute a comprehensive strategy for cultivating new and expanding existing markets across the Southeastern U.S. This involves promoting construction services across various sectors and leveraging company resources to achieve business development goals.

Responsibilities

  • Author and execute a detailed, targeted, and measurable business development plan, adjusting as market conditions fluctuate.
  • Oversee and direct strategy for new business development creation within the power market sector, tracking efforts and ROI.
  • Organize and communicate customer relationship management (CRM) and sales efforts using the AEC360 CRM platform.
  • Research and prioritize potential new business opportunities through market analysis.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed of industry developments, regulatory changes, and technological advancements in the power sector.
  • Attend and participate in networking organizations and events like tradeshows and conferences.
  • Create proposals and presentations with support from the Vice President of Business Development and marketing team.
  • Provide advice, liaison, and planning to prospective and current clients.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients, developers, utilities, and independent power producers (IPPs) in the power sector.
  • Assist operations and various departments with the sales process and final close to meet client needs and expectations.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or higher
  • 10+ years experience in construction or business development strategy
  • Deep understanding of the market, including key players, technologies, and regulatory frameworks

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate university degree or higher (preferably in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business Administration)
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in the construction industry or planning and implementing business development strategies.
