About This Role

This role is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and ensuring the operational condition of all water systems, medical equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems within the facility. The Biomedical Equipment Technician will prioritize patient and staff safety by performing required maintenance and documenting all repairs. They will also assist with inventory management and cost containment efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, test, and repair water treatment equipment, dialysis machines, medical equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems according to manufacturer and FMS procedures
  • Document all maintenance and repairs thoroughly
  • Ensure safety checks and routine tasks are conducted and documented in a timely manner
  • Conduct housekeeping checks and follow-up on identified problems
  • Perform water treatment equipment cleaning and disinfecting
  • Ensure all testing equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
  • Conduct building maintenance as needed
  • Coordinate medical waste disposal
  • Collect and organize supplies, restocking relevant areas
  • Assist in ordering, receiving, and conducting inventory of disposable supplies
  • Process water and dialysate samples according to specified procedures
  • Participate in and document ongoing technical QAPI activities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least six months experience in a technical (industry/hospital) setting
  • Organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to problem-solve in a medical/healthcare environment
  • Ability to complete FMCNA Training Program for Technical Staff
  • Valid Driver's License

Qualifications

  • High school/Vocational diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least six months experience working in a technical (industry/hospital) setting.

Nice to Have

  • Technician training or AA Degree in electronics
