This role involves repairing, calibrating, and maintaining medical equipment and support systems within Michigan Medicine facilities. The position covers whole-house responsibilities across multiple on-campus locations, focusing on corrective and preventative maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Repair, calibrate, and maintain medical equipment and support systems of varying complexity
- Perform corrective and preventative maintenance on patient monitoring systems, nurse call systems, TV systems, patient equipment, and operating room equipment
- Identify and prepare parts and materials necessary for repairs and preventative maintenance
- Document work performed in the AIMS work order database system
- Cross-train other Biomedical Engineering Technicians for expanded backup support
Requirements
- Associate degree in biomedical engineering technology or equivalent Military training
- Knowledge and experience with advanced analog and digital electronics
- Valid driver's license
Qualifications
- An associate degree in biomedical engineering technology or equivalent Military training
- Minimum of three years of experience repairing and maintaining medical equipment, preferably in a hospital environment (for level 2); minimum of eight years for level 3.
