About This Role

Ensure all dairy products are prepared, processed, and pasteurized according to recipes and meet customer, state, and federal guidelines within a dairy plant environment. This role involves measuring ingredients, operating pasteurizing systems, conducting quality tests, and maintaining equipment cleanliness.

Responsibilities

  • Measure ingredients, mix ingredients, and batch products according to recipe guidelines
  • Take inventory and record lot numbers of ingredients used
  • Execute the pasteurizing process including homogenization
  • Prepare pasteurized/raw tanks/set line circuits/CIP jumpers
  • Operate pasteurizing systems sending product to correct tanks or tankers
  • Run tests for butterfat and total solids
  • Set up tanks and line circuits for CIP, test chemicals and adjust as needed
  • Reassemble items once CIP is completed so they are ready for use
  • Keep all support equipment clean to meet state and federal guidelines
  • Perform basic maintenance and replace parts on the equipment as necessary
  • Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs
  • Collect required samples, as needed, for Quality Assurance testing

Requirements

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to work in cold and wet environment for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 6+ months in manufacturing, dairy or another related field preferred

Nice to Have

  • Forklift certified or willing to become certified
  • 6+ months in manufacturing, dairy or another related field
