Ensure all dairy products are prepared, processed, and pasteurized according to recipes and meet customer, state, and federal guidelines within a dairy plant environment. This role involves measuring ingredients, operating pasteurizing systems, conducting quality tests, and maintaining equipment cleanliness.
Responsibilities
- Measure ingredients, mix ingredients, and batch products according to recipe guidelines
- Take inventory and record lot numbers of ingredients used
- Execute the pasteurizing process including homogenization
- Prepare pasteurized/raw tanks/set line circuits/CIP jumpers
- Operate pasteurizing systems sending product to correct tanks or tankers
- Run tests for butterfat and total solids
- Set up tanks and line circuits for CIP, test chemicals and adjust as needed
- Reassemble items once CIP is completed so they are ready for use
- Keep all support equipment clean to meet state and federal guidelines
- Perform basic maintenance and replace parts on the equipment as necessary
- Ensure all required information is documented in accordance with SOPs
- Collect required samples, as needed, for Quality Assurance testing
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
- Ability to work in cold and wet environment for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to demonstrate mechanical aptitude
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 6+ months in manufacturing, dairy or another related field preferred
Nice to Have
- Forklift certified or willing to become certified
- 6+ months in manufacturing, dairy or another related field
