About This Role

Join the Hotel Cleveland team as a Banquet Houseperson to set up banquet rooms and serve food and beverages with high standards of quality, ensuring guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Set up banquet rooms according to supervisor instructions, including linen, serviceware, and glassware.
• Attend roll call meetings to learn function particulars, including guest and hotel expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages consistently to supervisor's expectations.
• Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course or meal.
• Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
• Reset banquet rooms according to supervisor's specifications after events to prepare for next functions.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate in English
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition
• Professional appearance and manner
• Ability to communicate well with guests
• Willingness to help co-workers and be a team player
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
• Knowledge of appropriate table settings and serviceware
• Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions for safe application of products and processes
• Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
• Ability to transport up to 30 lbs. through a crowded room continuously throughout the shift
• Ability to operate beverage equipment (e.g., coffee maker)
