Banquet Server

About This Role

Serve food and beverages in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner, meticulously setting up and breaking down Banquet functions according to high-quality standards at a luxurious, historically significant hotel.

Responsibilities

• Execute banquet functions, including room setup with linen, tableware, and glassware
• Setup function rooms, coffee breaks, buffets, and bars using a BEO as reference
• Attend Pre-shift meetings with Banquet Captain and Banquet Servers for every function
• Ensure all meeting rooms are set according to BEOs and are clean and tidy at all times
• Execute steps of service and company standards
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner
• Serve food and/or beverages promptly and consistently throughout the banquet
• Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal
• Replenish beverages as needed and check with guests for overall satisfaction
• Reset banquet room according to Captain's specifications to ensure readiness for the following function

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older to serve alcohol
• Requires a working knowledge of ala carte, fine dining as well as white glove practices
• TABC certified
• Tips Trained required
• Food Handlers required
• Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Comprehend reading materials, speak, read and write English
• Maintain proper associate uniform standards and footwear which is slip resistant and polished

Qualifications

• Previous banquet serving experience, preferably in a resort setting is valued.
