Banquet Server

About This Role

Serve guests during banquet functions, ensuring timely service and a pleasant event experience. This role supports the overall operation by reviewing event orders, setting up rooms, and maintaining cleanliness and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide a pleasant event experience to guests
• Review banquet event orders
• Set tables and rearrange banquet rooms
• Assist with making the function space visually appealing and presenting the menu offering
• Ensure that food is presentable prior to serving to guest
• Memorize banquet food and beverage menus and be familiar with preparations
• Deliver and retrieve guest plates, leftovers, and utensils with etiquette and poise
• Clean tables and utensils before, during and after shift
• Assist with set-up and breakdown of banquet event rooms
• Assist with side work such as folding napkins and preparing for opening/closing shift

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year of Banquet and/or fine dining experience
• Business communication skills both verbal and written in English
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure
• Ability to resolve conflicts with professionalism
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with associates and guests
• Ability to maintain consistent positive energy and passion for hospitality
• Ability to keep hotel sensitive information confidential
• Ability to adapt to various situations and handle pressure
• Meet California state minimum age to sell and serve alcohol

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1-year of Banquet and/or fine dining experience in restaurant, hotel or equivalent
