Bakery Clerk

About This Role

The Bakery Clerk is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of bakery goods, ensuring proper handling and storage, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards within the bakery department. This role involves direct interaction with members to answer questions and take special orders.

Responsibilities

• Proof and bake unfinished bakery goods following product handling information and using appropriate equipment
• Unpack and display bakery goods from the freezer according to production chart recommendations
• Package freshly baked goods, including cookies, Danish pastries, muffins, rolls, breads, and cakes
• Decorate special order or case products
• Rotate and store bakery products adhering to food safety, freshness, and handling policies
• Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments
• Ensure all products are fresh, meet quality standards, and check for out-of-date items daily
• Generate labels and price tickets for bakery goods and perform price checks
• Clean and sanitize bakery equipment, display fixtures, and food surfaces
• Answer member questions, provide recommendations, and take special orders

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age

Qualifications

• Experience working in a bakery or customer service oriented environment preferred.
