Back End Clerk

About This Role

The Back End Clerk is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing in-stock merchandise, and maintaining clean and safe store conditions. This role involves processing returns, managing inventory reports, and ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide SMART customer service by assisting customers with locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and loading merchandise.
• Process Centralized Return to Vendor (CRTV) and Return to Manufacturer (RTM) programs, including paperwork, packaging, and vendor contact.
• Generate and monitor inventory reports, including weekly cleared list, damaged on-hand list, and out-for-repair list.
• Coordinate with drivers and the receiving team to ensure quick accessibility of merchandise for customers and order pick-up.
• Validate items carried in and out of the store and properly log and dispose of hazardous materials.
• Operate store equipment such as Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, and various cutters and mixers.
• Detect signs of shoplifting and other security risks, communicating them to management and/or Asset Protection.
• Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and safety programs, maintaining a safe and secure work environment.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as may be required by law

Nice to Have

• 1 year of experience processing and filing merchandise receiving paperwork
• 1 year of experience with store inventory receiving and administration
• 6 months of experience in warehouse data entry/bookkeeping
• 6 months of experience communicating with vendors or customers regarding returns, payments, or contract fulfillment
• 6 months of retail experience accepting or processing returns
