About This Role

Join Tesla as an Auto Damage Desk Appraiser to complete auto physical damage estimates with high quality and efficiency, adhering to Tesla repair procedures and insurance industry standards. This role requires evaluating vehicle damages, settling total loss claims, and negotiating with repair facilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual estimates and supplements based on photos provided by the customer or body shop in an efficient manner
• Accurately assess vehicle damages and complete a thorough estimate using proper repair procedures
• Adhere to company claims procedures and guidelines
• Negotiate with auto repair facilities and reach agreement for cost of repair
• Evaluate the Actual Cash Value of a vehicle determined to be a total loss following company guidelines
• Settle vehicles determined to be a total loss
• Identify and report underwriting concerns or evidence of external fraud to appropriate channels

Requirements

• 1+ years’ experience as an auto damage appraiser with an insurance company or as a body shop writer
• Experience with major estimating software
• Effective organizational skills
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to complete work individually or in a team atmosphere
• Ability to travel to repair facilities for onsite inspections and other in-person tasks as needed
• Drivers License required

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience as an auto damage appraiser with an insurance company or as a body shop writer
