Auto Damage Desk Appraiser

About This Role

This role involves accurately assessing and estimating vehicle damages, negotiating repair costs, and settling total loss vehicles to ensure quality and efficiency in line with Tesla's repair procedures. The appraiser will conduct virtual estimates and identify potential underwriting concerns or fraud.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual estimates and supplements based on photos provided by the customer or body shop in an efficient manner
• Accurately assess vehicle damages and complete a thorough estimate using proper repair procedures
• Adhere to company claims procedures and guidelines
• Negotiate with auto repair facilities and reach agreement for cost of repair
• Evaluate the Actual Cash Value of a vehicle determined to be a total loss following company guidelines
• Settle vehicles determined to be a total loss
• Identify and report underwriting concerns or evidence of external fraud to appropriate channels

Requirements

• 1+ years’ experience as an auto damage appraiser with an insurance company or as a body shop writer
• Experience with major estimating software
• Effective organizational skills
• Effective communication skills
• Drivers License
