Associate, Due Diligence

About This Role

This Associate position supports a rapidly expanding global investment firm's due diligence team by performing in-depth operational assessments of external investment managers. The role focuses on evaluating operational frameworks and presenting findings to investment and risk leadership, significantly impacting investment decisions across alternative strategies.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth operational assessments of external investment managers across asset classes such as hedge funds, private equity, private credit, and other alternative strategies
• Review and evaluate operational frameworks including governance, internal controls, compliance, valuation, trade execution, technology, and business continuity
• Conduct site visits and virtual reviews, interviewing key stakeholders and reviewing policies, procedures, and operational workflows
• Synthesize findings into clear, well-structured reports outlining risks, strengths, and areas for enhancement
• Present conclusions and recommendations to investment and risk leadership
• Maintain ongoing monitoring of approved managers, including periodic reviews and issue tracking

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in audit, risk, or operational review
• Strong understanding of internal controls, risk assessment, and operational processes within financial services
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex operating models
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in audit, risk, or operational review
