About This Role

The Associate Director of Strategic Procurement will lead the execution and development of strategic sourcing strategies for university-wide initiatives. This role involves engaging key stakeholders to meet departmental sourcing and procurement needs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and maintenance of strategic sourcing plans to coordinate sourcing and contract management activities within assigned categories and deliver targeted benefits
  • Provide the development and negotiation of supplier agreements to support university-wide sourcing and procurement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain relationships with departments to gather, analyze, and convey information for category management and strategic sourcing efforts
  • Plan and conduct strategic sourcing processes on defined opportunities, engaging key stakeholders to meet departmental procurement needs
  • Maintain deep category expertise through understanding and application of industry developments, marketplace trends, emerging technology, new techniques, leading practices, and shared experiences
  • Manage key supplier relationships and conduct periodic business reviews to drive savings through innovation and resolve issues and disputes
  • Measure and report benefits delivered through strategic sourcing and ongoing contract management activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Supply Chain Management
  • 3-5 years in procurement, supply chain management, and contract language review and development
  • Data collection and analysis
  • Business intelligence and analytics
  • Category strategy execution
  • Issue resolution/problem solving
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • ERP System knowledge and experience
  • eProcurement application experience including procurement workflow, eSourcing, eInvoice, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management
  • 3-5 years in procurement, supply chain management, and contract language review and development

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience working in an academic/higher education organization or cyclical service delivery environment
  • Workday ERP System knowledge and experience
