About This Role

Serve as a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, providing direct clinical care, teaching, and engaging in scholarly activities within a growing multidisciplinary department. This role focuses on geriatric psychiatry, conducting neuropsychiatric assessments, and offering psychiatric consultations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct clinical care in community-based and academic settings as a Geriatric psychiatrist
  • Conduct neuropsychiatric assessments of new patients
  • Provide psychiatric consultation on established patients with combined neurocognitive and behavioral symptoms
  • Assist in the teaching and clinical supervision of medical students, residents, and other healthcare professional trainees
  • Collaborate with other faculty members in conducting clinical research and initiate projects
  • Function as a university faculty member, performing duties appropriate to academic rank and position

Requirements

  • MD or foreign equivalent
  • Completion of accredited residency training
  • Geriatric Psychiatry Fellowship
  • Qualified for board certification in psychiatry
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of North Carolina

Qualifications

  • MD or foreign equivalent

Nice to Have

  • Experience in providing telepsychiatry services
  • Experience in emergency psychiatry
