The Assistant Superintendent plays a critical role in managing construction documents, overseeing subcontractor work, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards. This position contributes to the successful completion of construction projects by monitoring progress, documenting activities, and facilitating communication within the project team and with clients.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and distribute construction documents to the entire project team (Plans, Specifications, RFI's, Bulletins, Field Reports)
- Manage layout and verify correctness of field dimensions
- Verify subcontractor layout for compliance with established line and grade
- Champion the BE&K Quality Management Program, including First Delivery and Benchmark Inspections, documenting deficiencies and tracking resolution
- Continuously monitor job progress on-site, ensuring compliance with Contract Documents
- Monitor and document all daily construction activity using written reports, photographs, sketches, and other software tools
- Help create and distribute daily and weekly work plans to the project team (schedules and logistics plans)
- Attend and participate in weekly/monthly customer and client meetings, providing updates and addressing concerns
- Compile and maintain all permits, testing, and inspections required for successful project completion and acceptance
- Assist in the administration of the BE&K Safety Program, including pre-construction meetings, pre-task planning, daily monitoring, and enforcement
- Supervise and mentor BE&K Field Engineers in their daily work
- Communicate clear expectations for safety to project teams
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in related construction fields
- Self-motivated

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering (ideal but not mandatory)
- 2+ years of experience in related construction fields
