This role supports the Store Manager in driving sales, ensuring excellent customer service, and overseeing store operations. The Assistant Store Manager will lead the store team, supervise customer service, and assist with staffing, goal setting, coaching, and hiring processes to ensure efficient store functioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead the store team in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers
- Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, including team member execution on company programs
- Work with the store manager to ensure adequate staffing of the retail sales counter during peak business hours
- Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching, mentoring, and ensuring individual training is current
- Assist in the hiring process for team members, including recruiting tasks, scheduling interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating on selections
- Ensure the telephone is answered according to company policy
- Process all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders in a timely manner, contacting customers upon shipment arrivals
- Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger for efficient handling of special orders and outside purchases
- Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently, issue accurate refunds, and correctly process or stage returned merchandise
- Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before leaving the store
- Communicate Zipline messages, and delegate and complete Image Maker and merchandising tasks
- Ensure all team members comply with company policies regarding work schedules, approvals for deviations, and clocking in/out procedures
- Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, and securing the building and delivery vehicles
- Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in-store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles
Requirements
- Sales Specialist Training
- Assistant Manager Certification
- RSS Certification
Nice to Have
- Certified Parts Professional Certification
- ASE Certification
- Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
