Assistant Store Leader

About This Role

Join the Store Leadership Team at Fry's Food & Drug as an Assistant Store Leader to learn all departmental operations and manage store performance, customer experience, and HR functions. This role involves developing associates, implementing merchandising initiatives, and ensuring operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assist store manager and associates in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience
• Develop associate interest in customer service and relations to enhance Kroger's best-in-class reputation
• Lead teams in planning, implementing, and executing merchandising and operating initiatives
• Develop action plans and communications to associates on Associate Insight survey results
• Work with department heads and store associates to identify store opportunities and develop timely solutions
• Role model and demand a high level of customer service; solve associate and customer issues
• Manage total store operations in the store manager’s absence
• Achieve and exceed weekly, period, and annual sales, wage, and profit budgets
• Drive sales by working with department managers to maximize sales and profits, and reduce shrink
• Assist store manager in staffing, reducing turnover, and increasing retention
• Provide timely individual and department performance feedback to department heads and associates
• Utilize coordinators and other field staff to ensure store departments achieve sales and profit goals
• Ensure store compliance and associate knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and enterprise policies
• Supervise and coach direct reports on the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• 1 year of experience as department manager, service manager, or equivalent
• Store manager/district manager or direct manager approval
