Assistant Store Director

About This Role

As an Assistant Store Director, you will oversee store operations, manage staff, and implement strategies to enhance customer service, drive sales, and improve profitability within Meijer's North Detroit Market.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction related to operations, processes, and conditions of the store
• Plan, direct, and supervise the team in the day-to-day operation of the store
• Responsible for selection, training and development, and performance management for all team members
• Develop strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability
• Ensure customer needs are met and complaints are resolved effectively and efficiently
• Ensure products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability
• Forecast staffing needs and develop recruiting strategy to provide optimal staffing
• Oversee overall operations across food and general merchandise areas
• Manage planograms, seasonal resets, and endcaps across the store
• Assess financial results of the store and execute appropriate business strategies to drive profitability

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of retail/grocery/operations management/customer service experience
• 4+ years of progressive leadership experience
• Strong commitment to developing future leaders
• Ability to drive operational excellence
• Thorough understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising
• Strong business acumen
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5+ years of retail/grocery/operations management/customer service experience and 4+ years of progressive leadership experience.
