The Assistant Service Manager is responsible for the administrative functions of the Service Office and ensuring efficient work processing. This role involves coordinating with customers, monitoring work orders, and assisting the Service Manager to maintain timely and efficient service operations.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all administrative functions for the Service Office.
- Ensure all charges are correctly applied to appropriate jobs.
- Set up work-orders with model and serial number and customer signature for in-shop work.
- Monitor work-order exception reports and coordinate updates with customers.
- Process sufficient retail work to achieve goals.
- Develop and maintain service efficiency for ongoing jobs.
- Coach service personnel on diagnostic, safety, clean, efficiency and effective high-quality work.
- Maintain a neat and orderly office and shop area.
- Work closely with Sales and Parts Departments on customer satisfaction.
- Assist Service Manager in ensuring all jobs are within estimates and advise customers as applicable.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years of Fleet or dealership experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills

- Strong writing skills
- Ability to prioritize work in a dynamic environment
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Management or customer service experience
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 3-5 years of diesel mechanic experience preferred, 2-3 years of Fleet or dealership experience, Management or customer service experience
