Assistant Seafood Team Lead

About This Role

This role provides helpful and efficient customer service in the Seafood Department, assisting the Seafood Manager with daily operations, merchandising, budgeting, and financial aspects. It also involves overseeing department clerks and ensuring optimal product rotation and inventory levels to maximize sales opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service
• Assist with the day-to-day operation of the seafood department, including product merchandising, preparation, arrangements, and displays
• Assist with ordering all seafood product merchandise and supplies, maintaining ordering in the manager's absence
• Assist the Seafood Manager with record keeping (financial aspects, payroll, wrap)
• Ensure high levels of customer service and courtesy, including accuracy of special orders
• Set seafood ice displays to corporate standards
• Ensure all associates adhere to company and state sanitation procedures and regulations
• Assist Seafood Manager with the training and scheduling of new associates
• Read daily e-mail communications from Seafood Merchandising and implement directions
• Perform suggestive selling, sampling, and PA announcements
• Learn and maintain computer-generated ordering system
• Control shrink through adherence to related policies and procedures

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through
• High School Degree or equivalent
• 6-12 months of related experience
