Assistant Professor - Professor, Pediatric Critical Care Physician

About This Role

The Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the University of Michigan seeks a pediatric critical care physician with clinical expertise in caring for complex, critically ill children. This role involves inpatient PICU service coverage, teaching, scholarly activity, and administrative duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage of the inpatient PICU service at C.S. Mott Children's Hospital
• Supervise and teach medical students, residents, and fellows
• Engage in scholarly activity
• Perform administrative duties
• Coordinate clinical services as Critical Care Service Chief (opportunity available)

Requirements

• MD or DO degree
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatrics
• Board Eligible/Board Certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
• Ability to obtain medical licenses in the State of Michigan
• Evidence of excellence in clinical care
• Evidence of excellence in clinical and/or didactic teaching

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree

Nice to Have

• Independent external funding
• Lead or senior authorship of peer-reviewed journal articles
• National reputation as demonstrated by service roles
• Significant leadership experience
• Nationally recognized scholarship in pediatric critical care medicine
• Research and academic interest in quality improvement, basic or translational science, or resuscitation science
• Interest and experience in leadership roles
