Assistant Professor of Mathematics and Statistics

About This Role

Serve as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Statistics or Applied Mathematics, teaching and mentoring students at the University of Central Oklahoma. Engage in scholarly activities and contribute to the department's mission of transformative learning and research.

Responsibilities

• Teach, advise, and mentor students
• Evaluate student performance and maintain department and student records
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and professional peers
• Engage in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities
• Teach day/evening classes and graduate/undergraduate courses
• Teach in a variety of instructional formats (in-person, hybrid, online)

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Statistics or Applied Mathematics or related field (completed by August 1, 2026 for ABD candidates)
• University teaching experience
• Demonstrable oral and written communication skills
• Eligible to work in the United States

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate degree in Statistics or Applied Mathematics or related field
• University teaching experience is required.

Nice to Have

• Previous postdoctoral experience
• Strong publication record
