About This Role

Kennesaw State University is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice to teach core courses, conduct research, and contribute to departmental and university service. This role is crucial for an R2 doctoral research institution committed to expanding its academic and research missions.

Responsibilities

  • Teach core courses in undergraduate and graduate criminal justice programs, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities
  • Maintain a productive research agenda
  • Seek opportunities for external funding
  • Provide service to the Department, College, and University

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or closely related social science discipline at time of hire

Qualifications

  • A doctoral degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Criminology or Criminal Justice, or other closely related social science discipline

Nice to Have

  • Clear promise of quality research and scholarship
  • Potential for external research funding
  • Experience or expressed interest in teaching large classes
  • Ability to teach large major courses in areas such as Foundations of Criminal Justice, Crimes and Defenses, Criminal Courts, Research Methods in Criminal Justice, Criminal Procedure, Corrections, and Ethics in Criminal Justice
