Assistant Professor in Pediatric Gastroenterology

About This Role

This Assistant Professor position focuses on providing high-quality clinical care in pediatric gastroenterology, ensuring patient satisfaction, and actively participating in clinical duties within the division. The role also includes significant educational responsibilities, mentoring medical students and residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care for the pediatric patient population at Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia, including outpatient and inpatient consults
• Become board certified in pediatric gastroenterology by year three or maintain board certification
• Provide high-quality, comprehensive care in pediatric gastroenterology to improve quality, safety, and patient satisfaction
• Participate in assigned clinical duties with other faculty in the Division, including outpatient ambulatory practice, satellite clinics, and on-call duties
• Meet all metrics associated with Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE)
• Become increasingly productive through the provision of clinical services in pediatric gastroenterology
• Meet and maintain productivity targets set forth by the department chair and MCG Dean's Office
• Promote good professional relationships and build referral patterns with Augusta University physicians and external referring physicians
• Provide prompt feedback to referring physicians
• Provide mentorship, clinical supervision, and consultation to residents/medical students/staff at MCG/AU
• Develop in-depth educational experiences for trainees in Pediatric Gastroenterology

Requirements

• Board certified in Pediatrics
• Board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology

Qualifications

• MD, DO or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution
• Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate post graduate training.
