About This Role

This position offers the opportunity to engage in teaching, advising, mentoring, and leadership within the College of Nursing's MSN and DNP programs, contributing to the growth and success of graduate education. It also involves scholarly practice and supporting the development of Family Nurse Practitioners.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate assigned didactic and clinical courses in the College’s graduate programs
  • Plan and evaluate student clinical experiences
  • Advise students in the MSN/DNP programs, providing guidance and mentorship
  • Guide DNP students’ projects and/or serve on advisory committees
  • Actively contribute to the College of Nursing scholarly activities
  • Develop and advance a program of scholarship in nursing and healthcare
  • Submit manuscripts for publication and present scholarly work in peer reviewed venues
  • Lead investigations in Evidence-Based Practice (EBP), Quality Improvement (QI), or policy initiatives
  • Seek funding opportunities to support scholarly endeavors
  • Provide clinical services as required for certification
  • Participate as an active interprofessional team member and lead projects
  • Collaborate with UK Healthcare nursing administrators to delineate nursing practice roles and standards
  • Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based programs and staff education
  • Mentor staff in planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based practice projects in nursing
  • Serve on college and/or university committees
  • Contribute to interprofessional advisory boards and committees

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate degree in nursing or related field
  • Minimum of BSN, BSN-DNP, or master’s degree in nursing
  • Active, unencumbered Kentucky RN license
  • Active Kentucky Board of Nursing APRN certification
  • Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to ongoing scholarship aligned with professional interests

Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate degree in nursing or related field with a minimum of a BSN, BSN-DNP, or master’s degree in nursing
