The Assistant Professor - Clinician Educator will focus on the early detection of pigmented lesions within the Department of Dermatology at the Perelman School of Medicine. This role involves teaching residents and medical students, providing clinical care for skin cancer patients, and contributing to clinical and translational research.
Responsibilities
- Teach residents in dermatology and other specialties caring for skin cancer
- Educate fellows in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology
- Teach medical students and trainees rotating from other institutions
- Evaluate and treat patients with skin cancer, particularly those at high risk of recurrence or metastasis
- Focus clinical responsibilities on the Penn Dermatology Oncology Center's specialty clinics
- Conduct clinical research addressing practical questions in skin cancer care
- Engage in translational research in collaboration with physician scientists
- Participate in clinical trials for new drugs to treat skin cancers
- Collaborate with other specialists in research pursuits
Requirements
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree
- Board certified or board eligible in Dermatology
- Expertise in non-invasive diagnosis and surveillance of pigmented lesions
