About This Role

This Assistant Professor position involves teaching undergraduate aviation courses, advising students, and developing curriculum for the Aviation Science and Management Department at Middle Georgia State University's Eastman Campus.

Responsibilities

  • Teach various aviation undergraduate courses (15 credit hours per semester) in the Aviation Science and Management Department
  • Advise and mentor aviation students on academic and career aspirations
  • Develop course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, tests, and lab projects
  • Construct training aids and mock-ups
  • Instruct the Aviation Science and Management courses
  • Evaluate student achievement and competence
  • Collaborate with faculty and industry advisory committee
  • Participate in research in aviation-related subjects

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in aviation or equivalent
  • Ability to teach a broad array of aviation training courses

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in aviation required, or a Master’s/Doctorate Degree with extensive experience in Aviation

Nice to Have

  • Doctoral degree in aviation
  • Civilian aviation experience with a background in FAR Part 121 or 135 operations
  • Industry experience in aviation
  • Teaching experience in aviation
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificated Flight Instructor rating (CFI)
  • Ground Instructor certificates (AGI, IGI)
