This role involves overseeing the entire scholarship application lifecycle, serving as the primary liaison for students and families regarding financial aid and scholarship inquiries, and supporting donor-funded scholarship awarding.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the complete scholarship application lifecycle, including promotion, tracking submissions, verifying eligibility, managing deadlines and reconciling data
- Act as the primary liaison for students, families and internal departments, providing expert guidance and timely responses to all financial aid and scholarship-related inquiries
- Support the awarding function of donor-funded scholarships through the use of the scholarship management system
- Manage specific program area(s) such as Special Scholarship Populations, External Scholarship awarding, and assist on customer service or processing teams as needed
- Support the University through presentations to various internal or external audiences including workshops, financial wellness programs, orientations, and other admission events
- Collaborate with campus partners to provide a holistic approach to service
- Provide excellent customer service to students and parents via phone, e-mail, walk-in, and other forms of engagement regarding all financial aid and scholarship matters
- Access federal and state systems (COD, NSLDS, GAP Access, FSA, etc.) to verify student aid eligibility
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Solid knowledge of federal and state regulations related to financial aid and scholarships
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a student-centered approach
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
- Experience working in higher education or nonprofit scholarship programs
- Experience in scholarship management, student services, financial aid, or program coordination
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or 5 to 7 years related experience or a combination of education and work experience
- 5 to 7 years related experience in higher education, student services, financial aid, or program coordination
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with scholarship software or student information systems (e.g., PeopleSoft and/or Blackbaud)
- PeopleSoft experience highly preferred
- Proficiency with Department of Education databases (COD, NSLDS, FAA Access, SAIG)
