The Asset Protection Associate supports shrinkage and safety awareness programs, conducts surveillance to detect theft, and helps maintain a safe environment for customers and associates.
Responsibilities
- Support Shrinkage and Safety Awareness programs by aiding Store Management to communicate current topics
- Conduct surveillance (CCTV/floor) to detect theft, fraud, or suspicious activity from customers and contractors
- Collect investigative intelligence related to Organized Retail Crime (ORC) activity and fraud
- Monitor team member activity as directed by AP management and report policy infractions
- Detain and interview suspects in accordance with local laws and Company policy
- Maintain records using approved Company methods, including proper retention of evidence and disposition of recovered merchandise
- Attend court hearings and maintain relationships with local law enforcement
- Identify and address potential hazards to customers and associates, correcting minor hazards
- Conduct incident investigations and complete associated reports
- Collect evidence for internal investigations as directed by AP management, acting as an interview witness
Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to learn and stay up to date on Company policy and procedures relating to loss prevention and relevant local legal requirements
- Maintain composure and handle high stress situations in a calm and effective manner
- Handle difficult situations with discretion
