Perform environmental tests and sampling for a variety of materials, operate and maintain field monitoring equipment, and assist with asbestos surveys and abatement projects to contribute to Terracon's engineering and technical services in Southern California.
Responsibilities
- Perform tests and sampling of environmental materials including air, groundwater, building materials, and noise
- Operate field monitoring equipment
- Assist with operation and maintenance of remediation systems
- Assist with asbestos surveys, abatement projects and Phase I preliminary site assessments
- Transport material samples or documents to the lab for further testing and analysis
- Tabulate and prepare data for written reports
- Clean and maintain field monitoring equipment
- Adhere to strict safety standards
- Independently perform non-routine field testing on a variety of projects
- Calibrate field monitoring equipment such as PID or combustible gas indicator
- Sample suspect asbestos-containing building materials in accordance with AHERA guidelines
- Perform oversight and air monitoring during asbestos abatement projects
- Perform complex monitoring and well sampling
- Drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent
- Follow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects
- Participate in pre-task planning and report any safety issues or concerns to management
- Maintain quality standards on all projects
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
- DOSH Certified Site Surveillance Technician (CSST) or Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC)
- CDPH Lead Sampling Technician, Lead Inspector/Assessor and/or Lead Project Monitor
- Certification in field of expertise (e.g., Asbestos inspector, Asbestos Project Monitor, Asbestos Management Planner, Lead Risk Assessor, Mold Technician)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6-8 years of relevant experience or the equivalent in training and related experience

- Other national, regional, state, and local environmental related certifications
