This role assists the Aquatics Director in the administration, supervision, and development of aquatic programs and services. It requires strong swimming skills and offers leadership growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assist director with administration, supervision and development of aquatic programs and services
- Ensure safe operation of aquatic programs and activities, adhering to Association policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Work alongside department staff, delegate tasks and responsibilities, monitor performance and provide development and leadership
- Report staff successes and/or issues to department directors
- Ensure sufficient staff-to-participant ratios for assigned programs and services, personally covering shifts if necessary
- Assist department directors with staff training & onboarding, skills tests & performance observations
Requirements
- Work experience in aquatics programming/environment
- Ability to obtain and maintain Lifeguard (LGI) certification within 90 days
- Ability to obtain and maintain Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification within 90 days
- Ability to obtain and maintain Child Abuse Prevention certification within 90 days
- Ability to obtain and maintain Bloodborne Pathogens certification within 90 days
- Ability to obtain and maintain Hazard Communication certification within 90 days
- Flexibility with weekly scheduling and availability to work during branch operations hours
