Apprentice Electrician, Commercial Self Perform

About This Role

Work as an Apprentice Electrician with the Tesla Energy Commercial Deployment team, under the supervision of a Licensed Electrician. This role involves commercial PV, energy storage, and supercharging stations, with a focus on electrical installations and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot various types of electrical components
• Use complex electrical schematics and blueprints
• Consult manuals, read and interpret diagrams, blueprints, and schematics
• Perform a wide variety of job scopes, including installing modules and racking
• Display positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
• Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback

Requirements

• Compliant government issued identification for domestic air travel and/or to access certain federal facilities
• Registered Trainee with the DIR or able to register and enroll in a state approved trainee course
• Knowledge of basic electrical theory and Ohms law
• 1-4 years of electrical experience
• Knowledge of using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment
• Able to size conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book
• Experience working with 120/208, 480/277 VAC
• Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics
• Ability to install electrical equipment
• Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based off drawings or field walks and routing
• Ability to produce as-built drawing for work performed
• Ability to test and commission all work per Tesla procedures
• Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. frequently
• Ability to work in high elevation and extreme environments
• Ability to perform repetitious duties for prolonged periods
• Strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management
• High degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people

Qualifications

• 1-4 years of electrical experience
