Animation Adjunct Instructor

About This Role

The Animation Adjunct Instructor will foster a dynamic learning environment for diverse students, delivering engaging instruction in animation at College of the Canyons. This role involves curriculum development, professional growth, and contributing to the college and community.

Responsibilities

• Assume leadership roles within the department and institution
• Commit to serving the needs of students, department, college, and community
• Collaborate across disciplines and utilize student support resources
• Participate in department, division, college committees, and participatory governance activities
• Participate in curriculum and program development
• Work collegially and collaboratively within the college community
• Participate in ongoing professional development
• Create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction
• Effectively engage with and facilitate authentic learning for students of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and experiences
• Adapt teaching pedagogy to the knowledge of each individual and class
• Self-reflect and respond to an evidence-based assessment of student learning
• Integrate new technologies into the learning process, including interactive technologies for on campus and online courses
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing

Requirements

• Unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Multimedia, Media Studies, Media Production
• OR Any bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of full-time equivalent professional experience directly related to Animation
• OR Any associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience directly related to Animation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree with relevant experience
• 2 years of full-time equivalent professional experience directly related to Animation with a Bachelor's degree, or 6 years with an Associate's degree
