About This Role

The Amusement Development SCO Apprentice performs consultation tasks related to Amusement Ride Devices, ensuring adherence to state regulations. This entry-level role involves independent compliance work, not supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with approved certifying agencies to verify qualifications of third-party inspectors and documentation.
  • Explain state laws and program regulations to device owners/operators/municipalities.
  • Collect and review amusement device documentation for compliance with state laws and program requirements.
  • Identify non-compliant amusement device companies and notify owners/operators of violations.
  • Conduct on-site visits in response to accidents or non-compliance and locate non-compliant companies.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of laws and regulations governing amusement devices and public safety.
  • Maintain, scan, and submit program-related documents, statistics, and activities weekly.
  • Address complaints, resolve disputes, and negotiate with internal and external parties as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school or equivalent
  • Four years of professional experience in law enforcement, safety inspection, compliance, or business management
  • Valid vehicle operator's license

  • Four years of responsible full-time professional experience in fields such as law enforcement, safety inspection, compliance, or business management.
