Provide primary and/or specialty care as a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) within a pediatric primary care setting. Emphasize health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems in collaboration with a healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations
- Initiate appropriate laboratory, radiology, and other special tests
- Interpret common laboratory, radiologic, and cardiographic procedures
- Perform routine and specialized procedures as credentialed and privileged
- Prescribe and monitor medications according to license
- Educate patients regarding their disease, treatments, and side effects
- Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members
- Refer patients to specialists for consultation or specialized resources
- Ensure continuity of care between patients and the multi-disciplinary team
- Participate in quality monitoring through record and treatment plan reviews
Requirements
- Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)
- Experienced APP Provider
- Graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program
- Arrangements with at least one physician in accordance with State Board of Nursing requirements
- Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body of applicable hospitals
Qualifications
- MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role; Graduate of an accredited APRN program; Master’s Degree required upon hire if in neonatal care service area
- Experienced APP Providers Only; Related clinical experience preferred; Ambulatory experience, preferably in pediatrics
