About This Role

Provide primary and/or specialty care as a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) within a pediatric primary care setting. Emphasize health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems in collaboration with a healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations
  • Initiate appropriate laboratory, radiology, and other special tests
  • Interpret common laboratory, radiologic, and cardiographic procedures
  • Perform routine and specialized procedures as credentialed and privileged
  • Prescribe and monitor medications according to license
  • Educate patients regarding their disease, treatments, and side effects
  • Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members
  • Refer patients to specialists for consultation or specialized resources
  • Ensure continuity of care between patients and the multi-disciplinary team
  • Participate in quality monitoring through record and treatment plan reviews

Requirements

  • Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)
  • Experienced APP Provider
  • Graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program
  • Arrangements with at least one physician in accordance with State Board of Nursing requirements
  • Credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Body of applicable hospitals

Qualifications

  • MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role; Graduate of an accredited APRN program; Master’s Degree required upon hire if in neonatal care service area
  • Experienced APP Providers Only; Related clinical experience preferred; Ambulatory experience, preferably in pediatrics
