Advanced Practice Clinician

About This Role

Deliver high-quality patient care in clinic and long-term care settings, assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients under the direction of a physician preceptor. Educate patients and families on health, disease processes, and wellness.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in the Clinic and/or Long Term Care setting according to the scope of practice outlined by the Board of Nursing, approved protocols, and national standards of practice as directed by the physician preceptor.
• Provide patients and/or family members with education related to the disease process, health, and wellness.
• Serve as a resource for community agencies as appropriate.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient status and patient care activities including treatments, procedures, and medications prescribed.
• Ensure clinical competence and stay abreast of changes in medical management.
• Participate in a variety of health care education activities.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in health-related or science field
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• 1-3 years of work experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of skills and current technology
• Interaction with a patient population of all ages ranging from neonates to geriatrics
• Ability to work without close supervision and exercise independent judgment in a professional area
• Ability to organize multiple tasks and maintain control of work flow
• Professional demeanor
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines and regulations

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in health-related or science field, Doctorate Degree preferred
• 1-3 years of work experience
